An exhibition by Crisis Skylight South Wales

Crisis, the national homelessness charity, is proud to share this exhibition created by members of Crisis Skylight South Wales. It emphasises that for people experiencing homelessness, the prospect of having a place to call home is often the key to hope.
Created by people with lived experience of homelessness, the exhibition comprises a range of artforms including photography, Gelli printing, pyrography, crafting and creative writing. It invites viewers to stand in the shoes of a person experiencing homelessness and reflect on the barriers faced by people who don’t have a stable place to call home.
For people who have experienced homelessness – whether that included sofa surfing, staying in unsuitable temporary accommodation, rough sleeping, or any other form of homelessness – the key to a home unlocks so much more than a door.
Having a stable place to call home makes it easier to find and maintain a job, stay mentally and physically healthy, and nurture relationships. The key to a home unlocks a basis from which we can build our lives. For many, home is the key to hope.

Mae Crisis, yr elusen ddigartrefedd genedlaethol, yn falch o rannu’r neges am yr arddangosfa hon, a grëwyd gan aelodau posiect Skylight o dan ofal Crisis De Cymru. Mae’n pwysleisio, i bobl sy’n profi digartrefedd, mai’r posibilrwydd o gael lle i’w alw’n gartref yn aml yw’r allwedd i obaith.
Wedi’i chreu gan bobl sydd â phrofiad personol o ddigartrefedd, mae’r arddangosfa yn cynnwys amrywiaeth o ffurfiau celfyddydol gan gynnwys ffotograffiaeth, argraffu yn y Gelli, pyrograffeg, crefftwaith ac ysgrifennu creadigol. Mae’n gwahodd gwylwyr i sefyll yn esgidiau rhywun sy’n profi digartrefedd a myfyrio ar y rhwystrau a wynebir gan bobl nad oes ganddynt le sefydlog i’w alw’n gartref.
I bobl sydd wedi profi digartrefedd – boed hynny’n cynnwys mynd o un soffa i’r llall, aros mewn llety dros dro anaddas, cysgu allan, neu unrhyw fath arall o ddigartrefedd – mae’r allwedd i gartref yn datgloi cymaint mwy na dim ond agor drws.
Mae cael lle sefydlog i’w alw’n gartref yn ei gwneud hi’n haws dod o hyd i swydd a chadw swydd, yn haws aros yn iach yn feddyliol a chorfforol, ac yn haws i feithrin perthnasoedd. Mae’r allwedd i gartref yn datgloi sail y gallwn adeiladu ein bywydau arni. I lawer, cartref yw’r allwedd i obaith.
