Cardiff Harbour Festival hosts Extreme Sailing Series

Renowned for its intense racing, the adrenaline-fuelled Extreme Sailing Series™ returns to Cardiff Bay for the seventh consecutive year.

The UK stop on the action-packed global circuit, which spans the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, will play host to a fleet of elite-level international sailing teams. Taking on the Series regulars on Cardiff’s famously tricky and tactical course, Extreme Sailing Series™ wildcard Team Wales will be looking to prove themselves as hot competition on home waters.

Crewed by a mixture of Welsh and English sailing talent, Team Wales boasts an array of racing accolades, from Olympic campaigns to European and World Championships, with many of the team also having competed on the Extreme Sailing Series circuit in recent years.

The Flying Phantom Series’ two-man hydro-foiling catamarans will enhance the on-the-water racing schedule, ensuring non-stop action.

As well as racing, the event will provide shore-side entertainment for the whole family during the August bank holiday weekend. Spectators can enjoy live music, fun activities, bars, food stalls and expert commentary of the racing, while taking advantage of the perfect viewing spot from the free-to-enter public Race Village.

Alternatively, watch the Stadium Racing from the comfort of the VIP Extreme Club. With unrivalled views of the water, five-star catering, drinks, exclusive entertainment and behind-the-scenes access, it promises to deliver an unforgettable experience.

For those who want an extra thrill, the Guest Sailor spot offers the best seat in the house. Guests have the opportunity to ride on board the flying GC32 catamarans during racing, for a truly memorable day. For more information, visit
