Exhibition: Millennium Surfaces

Textile artist Jill Riley shows her exquisite collection of woven hangings in an exhibition at Craft in the Bay. The Inspiration for the Millennium Surfaces collection came from the architectural forms and local materials found in the Wales Millennium Centre (WMC), Cardiff Bay. Welsh slate, wood, steel and copper are incorporated into the building, offering rich sources of colour, shape and texture to draw on. Jill has based her designs for this collection of hand-woven textiles on her interpretation of the WMC building surfaces and the Welsh land forms and features that inspired its design and construction.
