FORGE: Exhibition of contemporary metalwork

A stunning exhibition of international contemporary forged metalwork that celebrates exciting innovations in this descipline and its shift from traditional blacksmithing. The selected artists represent many of the most skilled artists working in hot metal today. The exhibition provides audiences with a rare opportunity to see up close the intricate detail that the artists have managed to achieve through the manipulation of the hot metal – creating often complex forms and textures.

Forge has been curated by Delyth Done, Course Leader of Artist Blacksmithing at Hereford College of Arts.

‘In Conversation’ and other events linked to the exhibition will be advertised on the Makers Guild in Wales website.

Fifteen international metal artists whose practice has been identified as having a significant impact present their work. They represent a new wave of contemporary artists who have developed an innovative, design-led practice.
