Crefft Yn Y Bae
His first solo exhibition in Cardiff, Objective Unreality will challenge your perception of surface and form through Jin’s skilful and meticulously worked out use of clay, colour and tone. Months of research, experimentation with clays and colour, making test pieces, designing and making specialist tools, to enable him to realise his ideas in ceramic form.
The exhibition shows not only the completed artworks but also gives an insight into his creative journey through photographs, sketchbooks, test pieces and even forms that didn’t quite survive the process of making, drying and multiple firings.
Jin shows exceptional dedication to his craft and in pushing the limits of materials and process to reach his desired goals.
An exhibition catalogue supports the exhibition, with introduction by Richard Cox and essay by Andrew Renton.
Fel ei arddangosfa unigol gyntaf yng Nghaerdydd, bydd Objective Unreality yn herio’ch canfyddiad o arwyneb a ffurf trwy ddefnydd medrus a manwl Jin o glai, lliw a thôn. Misoedd o ymchwil, arbrofi gyda chlai a lliw, gwneud darnau prawf, dylunio a gwneud offer arbenigol, i’w alluogi i wireddu ei syniadau ar ffurf serameg.
