The Cardiff Bay Reindeer Trail

Nine runaway reindeer have escaped in Cardiff Bay! Can you help Father Christmas find his sleigh-pulling squad this festive season?

Taking place from 30 November 2024 – 5 January 2025, The Cardiff Bay Reindeer Trail is a free bilingual activity that’s suitable for all the family, featuring eight willow-crafted reindeer scattered around Bay venues, including Mermaid Quay, The Red Dragon Centre and Senedd Cymru. There’s also a ninth digital reindeer, sponsored by Cardiff Harbour Authority, who’ll spring into life in Roald Dahl Plass via your smartphone.

Click here to take part online or pick up printed map from participating attractions. Then simply collect a special letter from each reindeer, and unscramble all the letters to work out the festive word. You can then submit your entry online for a chance to win a fantastic family stay and play in the Bay – including an overnight stay at Voco St David’s with breakfast, a day out at The Red Dragon Centre with complimentary ODEON cinema tickets and a £50 voucher towards a delicious meal at Volcano restaurant, a boat ride on the prestigious Princess Katharine, and a free ice cream every week for a year from Cadawaladers, Mermaid Quay.

You can also enter our weekly trail selfie competitions on social media, with fantastic Bay-based prizes to be won; and keep an eye out for free seasonal activities, such as puppet shows, storytelling and craft sessions, from 30 November.
